Orion Metzler from IMACS in Kindergarten to University of Florida!
Orion, an exceptionally advanced homeschooled student, began taking classes at IMACS in kindergarten. In his time at IMACS, he thrived at all levels of Math Enrichment, Computer Enrichment, University Computer Science, AP® Computer Science A, and Logic for Mathematics I. He soared through high school, taking all science classes available to him, earning numerous national and state academic awards, scoring 5’s on nine AP exams, and achieving a perfect score of 36 on the ACT. Orion graduated high school as a National Merit Scholar and an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Complementing Orion’s outstanding achievements in STEM are his equally impressive creative endeavors. He has been playing piano for 13 years and taught himself how to compose and produce music. Orion combined his love of albums and film with his passion for writing to create a catalogue of in-depth music and cinema reviews. He also enjoys making people laugh with improv comedy performances.
Orion will attend the University of Florida where he plans to triple major in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology with minors in Linguistics, English, and Music Theory.
