IMACS and EMF bolstered my appreciation of and interest in the intricacies of mathematics and taught me how to apply my critical thinking skills. I credit IMACS for my accomplishments so far and feel well-prepared to pursue my future goals.
Isabella Yeung from IMACS in 4th Grade to MIT!
Isabella discovered IMACS through the Logic Puzzles class at Hi-Tech Summer Camp just before fourth grade. She went on to excel in Math Enrichment, Electronics, university-level courses in Computer Science, and EMF Math. In addition to graduating first in her class as a National Merit Finalist with 13 APs, Isabella also earned an AA degree, having taken 28 dual enrollment classes.
Even with such a demanding academic schedule, Isabella found time to give back through almost 1,500 volunteer hours. Her command of mathematics and ability to explain complex ideas are so strong that as an 11th and 12th grader she taught the AP Calculus BC class at her high school. It is no surprise that she was named a 2021 Sunshine State Scholar for outstanding achievement in STEM.
Leadership is also among Isabella’s many strengths. She was president of Mu Alpha Theta and Key Club, as well as earning the distinctions of 2021 Carson Scholar, a national honor, and 2022 Broward County Outstanding Leader.
Isabella was accepted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wellesley, University of Florida, and New College of Florida. She chose MIT where she plans to explore Wildlife Biology, Earth Science, and Mathematics with the goal combining these fields to do conservation work.
