Through IMACS, I discovered my passion for mathematics and computer science, developing my abilities as a logical and critical thinker. Beyond acquiring knowledge, I enjoyed every moment from playing the String Game to participating in summer classes to university-level computer science courses. As a result, I effortlessly aced my AP Computer Science classes. My experience at IMACS has shaped who I am and what I want to do. I am truly grateful for the transformative experience IMACS has provided.
Amit Zohar from IMACS in 1st Grade to University of Miami!
Amit Zohar began her journey with IMACS in first grade. She successfully completed all five levels of math enrichment, computer programming enrichment, and university-level computer science.
Amit has consistently demonstrated her dedication to achieving success. She participated in the prestigious three-week Summer Scholars program at the University of Miami, where she earned six college credits and secured two A’s. She is an active member of the Computer Science Honors Society and the National Honors Society and was awarded the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence – all a testament to her outstanding academic achievements.
Amit will take a year to travel to Israel where she will study Judaics. She was awarded the Emerging Scholars Award from Maharat. This award celebrates women who are high school seniors and have demonstrated a personal commitment to leadership, spirituality, and Torah learning.
After that, she plans to continue her academic pursuits at the University of Miami, focusing on math and computer science. While her future career aspirations are still evolving, she envisions merging her interests in both subjects into a fulfilling and impactful career. Amit credits IMACS for fueling her passion for math and computer science.
