Albert Wang

IMACS greatly cultivated my interest in mathematics and computer science through its engaging logic-based classes, delving deep into the inner workings of mathematical results that other programs just shallowly state for granted.

Albert Wang was accepted to MIT as an 11th grader!

Albert began taking IMACS classes in 1st grade. He excelled in all levels of Math Enrichment, Hi-Tech Summer Camp, and university-level courses in Mathematical Logic and Computer Science and was among the first middle school students in the country to complete the EMF Math program. Albert has earned all A’s including in 27 college-level courses taken through 11th grade, scored 1580 on the SAT and 36 on the ACT, and is ranked #1 in his class with a 5.8 GPA.

As a four-time USAJMO/USAMO Qualifier, six-time AIME Qualifier, and president of the Florida Student Association of Mathematics, Albert’s passion for solving math problems is evident. Equally impressive is his talent as a composer.

In 2019 and 2020, Albert was the only high school student invited to be a guest composer at the Lynn Conservatory of Music’s New Music Festival. He placed 2nd in his age group at the 2021 National Finals of the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Composers Contest. Albert also makes time to share his love of math by creating and teaching competition math classes at his local Chinese school.

Albert was accepted to MIT as an 11th grader. After deferring a year, he will begin his studies in Mathematics and Computer Science with a minor in Music. Albert plans to pursue a career as a mathematician or software developer.

Albert had the IMACS advantage!

He chose MIT.
