Full Day Camp, Half Day Camp, & Individual Classes

Please select a grade (for Fall 2018):

Grade 1 (in Fall 2018)

Primary Logic Puzzles: Games! Puzzles! Fun! (But don't tell your kids that they are learning how to reason and are developing a love of mathematical thinking.) Each session runs Monday to Friday.

2:30pm-4:00pm. (At Cary 1 on Weeks 2 & 6, and at Chapel Hill on Weeks 1 & 5, the class is held from 9:15am to 10:45am.)

Grade 2 (in Fall 2018)

Primary Logic Puzzles: Games! Puzzles! Fun! (But don't tell your kids that they are learning how to reason and are developing a love of mathematical thinking.) Each session runs Monday to Friday.

Primary Logic Puzzles is an excellent preparation for the Full Day Camp (for rising 3rd graders and up). Rising 2nd graders, even gifted ones, are not yet ready for our Full Day Camp, due not only to the mental challenges of the classes, but also the independent work required in the computer class and the detailed physical work required in the electronics class.

2:30pm-4:00pm. (At Cary 1 on Weeks 2 & 6, and at Chapel Hill on Weeks 1 & 5, the class is held from 9:15am to 10:45am.)

Grade 3 (in Fall 2018)

Classes are two hours each. Register in one, two, or three classes. Three classes make a Full Day Camp (9:15am-4:15pm).

Note: In Chapel Hill (Weeks 1 & 5 only), and at Cary 1, campers may register only for a Half Day camp, which includes two classes of ninety minutes each. (9am-12pm). Lunch-care is available from 12pm-1pm for $8/day.

Rising 3rd graders are typically ready for our Full Day Camp. We recommend a single week for 3rd graders. Older students can handle the more challenging, self-paced material found in multiple weeks of Computers and Electronics, but, for 3rd graders, a single week will be a great fit. Of course, they can come back next summer and proceed to the more advanced material that awaits.

Grade 4 (in Fall 2018)

Classes are two hours each. Register in one, two, or three classes. Three classes make a Full Day Camp (9:15am-4:15pm).

Note: In Chapel Hill (Weeks 1 & 5 only), and at Cary 1, campers may register only for a Half Day camp, which includes two classes of ninety minutes each. (9am-12pm). Lunch-care is available from 12pm-1pm for $8/day.

We recommend one or two weeks of camp for rising 4th graders.

Grade 5 (in Fall 2018)

Classes are two hours each. Register in one, two, or three classes. Three classes make a Full Day Camp (9:15am-4:15pm).

Note: In Chapel Hill (Weeks 1 & 5 only), and at Cary 1, campers may register only for a Half Day camp, which includes two classes of ninety minutes each. (9am-12pm). Lunch-care is available from 12pm-1pm for $8/day.

We recommend one or two weeks of camp for new students. If your child is a returning student and would like to enroll in more than two weeks of camp, call IMACS at 919-786-0246 or email ncinfo@imacs.org.

Grade 6 (in Fall 2018)

Grade 7 (in Fall 2018)

If your child is highly gifted, a more rigorous program – including University-level Computer Science – may be appropriate. Contact IMACS for more details.
