IMACS After-School Programs

Electronics

IMACS Electronics uses hands-on techniques to introduce students to the world of electronics. While working at their own pace, 3rd through 10th grade students learn about components such as resistors, diodes, LEDs, capacitors, transistors and IC chips by designing and building electronics projects that they are allowed to keep.

The curriculum is designed to harness the inquisitive nature of kids. As students build and design circuits, they begin to discern the logic that underpins the theory and practice of electronics &ndash all while working in a safe, fun environment!

Beginners learn about such topics as electrical resistance, series versus parallel circuits and Ohm's Law. As students advance, they begin soldering more complex circuits, and the most advanced IMACS Electronics students learn about logic circuits and components that form the basis for the design of microcomputers.
